SINGAPORE : Foreign Minister George Yeo has said there is no evidence of any Singaporean company being involved in the export of weapons to Myanmar, nor is there evidence that such a transaction has occurred.

He was responding to a question raised by Nominated MP Siew Kum Hong in Parliament on Monday.

In his written reply, Mr Yeo said Singapore takes proliferation issues seriously, and the allegation of a Singapore link in the export of rocket launchers to Myanmar has been thoroughly investigated.

Mr Yeo gave the assurance that the authorities will continue to monitor the situation closely and undertake enforcement actions, if necessary. - CNA /ls
