SINGAPORE : Singapore has welcomed the efforts by Thailand and Cambodia to hold talks on the Preah Vihear Temple issue.

A spokesman for the Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said on Wednesday that resolving the disagreement in an amicable manner is in line with the spirit of ASEAN solidarity and good neighbourliness.

And Singapore wishes them well in their continuing efforts to work towards a good outcome for both sides.

The Preah Vihear Temple issue topped the agenda of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting in Singapore last month.

The foreign ministers had called on both Thailand and Cambodia to exercise restraint on the matter. - CNA /ls
