SINGAPORE : Police are investigating two cases of murder in central Singapore. One involved a Chinese national and the other an Indian woman.

The police received a call at about 6.45am on Thursday that a Chinese national was allegedly murdered by a fellow countryman at Henderson Road.

The 28-year-old was found in his home with multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at about 7am.

The police said a knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was also found on the second floor parapet.

The 36-year-old murder suspect lives there, along with six other Chinese foreign workers.

The two were working at a printing company and were believed to be arguing over work issues prior to the incident.

The murder suspect will be charged in court on September 5.

The other murder case occurred at a hotel in Geylang, where staff found a naked Indian woman under a bed, in a pool of blood. She was pronounced dead at noon.

The police said the suspect is believed to be a dark-complexioned man who checked into the room earlier. - CNA /ls
