SINGAPORE : Central Singapore Community Development Council has come together with the Central Provident Fund Board (CPF) to help elderly residents who have yet to sign up for this year's tax credits.

Volunteers, armed with ultra compact mobile computers, go door-to-door on Saturday to visit low-income residents at Chin Swee Road in central Singapore.

They helped the residents register online for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) credits, which are handed to every adult citizen to cushion the impact of the two percentage point GST increase last year.

It was also a chance for residents to ask any questions they had on other fiscal measures designed to help the needy or elderly.

The last day to sign up for this year's GST credits and Senior Citizens' Bonus is December 31. - CNA /ls
