SINGAPORE: Singapore's maritime community came together on Friday morning to launch this year's maritime week. Over 1,000 industry members were flagged off by Transport Minister Raymond Lim.
The inaugural Singapore Nautical Run raised over S$300,000 for charity.
The rest of the week will see a slew of activities, including international conferences, networking and community events.
There will be talks on the current issues facing the maritime community, involving the movers and shakers of the industry.
The Singapore Maritime Week started two years ago, as a week-long clustering of business activities and has now developed into a comprehensive range of programmes.
The event, driven by Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority, is expected to attract over 6,000 participants. - CNA/vm
