SINGAPORE: The drug trafficking charge against Australian television journalist Peter Lloyd has been dropped.

His lawyer Hamidul Haq from Rajah & Tan said Lloyd will plead guilty to part of the remaining four charges of drug consumption and possession of drug utensils on December 2.

Mr Haq did not say why the drug trafficking charge was dropped.

41-year-old Peter Lloyd was arrested on July 16 and charged on July 18 with trafficking and possession of methamphetamine, a stimulant also known as "Ice".

He was slapped with three additional charges of consuming "Ice" and possession of drug paraphernalia stained with "Ice" and ketamine at a local hospital on July 25.

If convicted of the consumption charge, Lloyd faces up to 10 years in prison, a S$20,000 fine, or both.
