SINGAPORE: As of Tuesday 11pm, only two Singaporean contestants are left in this year's MediaCorp Radio Subaru Impreza Challenge. One of them is Mary Tan, a 35-year-old mother of two, and the other is George Lee, a 29-year-old civil servant.

All 40 overseas participants of this year's competition have dropped out. The last one, 32-year-old Samach Tepsen from Thailand, called it quits shortly after clocking 72 hours and 50 minutes in the arena.

To keep the competition fair and to avoid disputes, video cameras have been mounted near the hands of the two remaining contestants.

Tan and Lee have to keep their palms firmly pressed on their palm decals to remain in the competition. The first person who fails to do so loses the contest.

The annual challenge to win a brand new Subaru Impreza, worth some S$80,000, kicked off on Saturday with 400 contestants at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza.
