SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has been invited to attend the 15th anniversary celebrations of the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) next year.
The invitation came from Jiangsu Party Secretary Liang Baohua who called on Mr Lee on Sunday afternoon.
Both leaders agreed that the success of the SIP is a unique symbol of cooperation between Singapore and China.
Leveraging on that model, they called on both sides to engage in new areas of cooperation, such as environmental protection.
Earlier, Mr Liang also met Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng and Acting Minister for Manpower Gan Kim Yong.
