SINGAPORE: Police said they have found the body of a security guard who went missing on Friday at Robertson Quay near the Singapore River.

Authorities had earlier found the 19-year-old man's shoes and walkie-talkie on the river bank at around 2am on Friday.

They police said they found the body floating in the river only on Saturday at 6.30am.

Colleagues of the security guard, identified as Saran Saunthara Pandian, believe he was trying to help a woman in the river before he went missing.

They said he was not a strong swimmer.
