SINGAPORE: Besides a countdown party at Marina Bay, there are other fun options in Singapore for those who do not want to squeeze up against an expected crowd of over 250,000 people.
Instead of jostling for seats in public transport on New Year's Eve, how about taking a walk to your nearest town centre to welcome the New Year with neighbours?
There will be 27 free countdown parties held in the heartlands and besides performances, games and food, one can also look forward to fireworks and even a foam party along Boon Lay Place.
For a different experience, you can also head to the annual Siloso Beach Party at Sentosa which promises more foam and upbeat dance tracks for clubbers, with tickets from S$29 each.
However, if you prefer to keep your shoes sand-free, Clarke Quay may be a more suitable option as the New Year celebration will be held in carnival style, with street parades and Samba moves.
