SINGAPORE: Two Madrasahs under the Joint-Madrasah System (JMS) have stopped the intake of Primary One students for the new school year.

Under the new system, Madrasah Aljunied and Madrasah Al-Arabiah will be focusing on Secondary students from this year.

The third Madrasah under the JMS, Madrasah Al-Irsyad, will be the centre for the Primary school level.

At Madrasah Al-Arabiah, teachers who previously taught Primary One students will be redeployed to assist other teachers.

The Joint Madrasah System will be fully implemented by 2015. - CNA/vm
