SINGAPORE: Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said it is assisting the family of the late Mr Teo Sze Siong, who was killed in a Bangkok nightclub blaze on Thursday, to bring his body back to Singapore by Saturday night.

It will also continue to render assistance to the next-of-kin of two Singaporeans who were in and around Santika Pub in Bangkok when the fire broke out on New Year's Day. The two of them remain unaccounted for.

The embassy in Bangkok is working closely with the local authorities to determine their status, and also to ascertain if there are any more Singaporeans affected.

One of the three injured, Adeline Tok Chai Lin, is said to have suffered burns to about 50 per cent of her body. She is now unable to walk on her own. Adeline's boyfriend, Donald Loh, is also hospitalised.

Her mother told Channel NewsAsia that she is out of danger and her condition has stabilised.

"We are waiting for the doctor to discharge her. Air pressure is involved when flying. We have to wait for a few more days to see if she can travel," Mrs Tok said.
