SINGAPORE: The Consumer Association of Singapore (CASE) has found that two companies have misused the Green Label issued by the Singapore Environment Council (SEC).
The companies are CMM Marketing and Lifestyle Integral.
CMM Marketing was found to have used the label on a clothes cleaning detergent, Power Plus Anti-Bacterial, while Lifestyle Integral used the label on its floor cleaning detergent, SPANK Floor Cleaning Solution.
These cases were discovered after SEC and CASE conducted a joint survey on green labelling of washing detergents from mid-February to early March this year.
CASE has written to the Ministry of Trade and Industry to request that it looks into the issue.
The consumer association emphasised that using the Green Label on a product that is not endorsed is a misrepresentation to consumers.
