SINGAPORE: Singapore's Ministry of Education (MOE) is seeking feedback from the public and key stakeholders on the new Private Education (PE) bill.

This set of draft laws lay out a proposed regulatory regime for private education operators in Singapore.

From March till May this year, MOE had conducted an earlier public consultation exercise on the key features of this regime.

It received comments from over 100 respondents from the private education sector and 50 students and members of the public through various platforms.

Comments touched on aspects such as the voluntary quality assurance certification scheme, EduTrust, and requirements under the mandatory enhanced registration framework for operators.

A summary of responses to the feedback received has been posted
online.

The current public consultation exercise on the new bill runs from July 1 to 21.

Consultation guidelines, summary and copy of the bill can be found at www.reach.gov.sg and www.moe.gov.sg.

The bill will be tabled in Parliament by the third quarter this year. - CNA/de
