SINGAPORE: Singapore will send eight hearing impaired athletes to the 21st Deaflympic Games in Taipei next month.

A Deaflympic Flag Presentation ceremony was held on Saturday for the athletes.

The roadshow was also aimed at educating the public on the Deaflympic Games.

According to the national body representing deaf sports in Singapore, the athletes will take part in bowling and taekwondo.

The Deaf Sports Team Singapore was formed in 2000 and has participated in two Deaflympics previously. - CNA/vm
