SINGAPORE: MediaCorp's deejays are known to put a smile on listeners' faces, and on Saturday, they walked the talk.
Class 95FM deejays Glenn Ong, Vernetta Lopez and The Flying Dutchman journeyed 32 kilometres, from Jurong Point Shopping Centre to Parkway Parade, on foot to raise funds for the station's adopted charity, Operation Smile Singapore.
Proceeds from the event will fund corrective surgery for children with facial deformities. The radio crew's efforts are also a show of support for those overseas, who have to overcome distances to get medical treatment.
Mark van Cuylenburg, also known as The Flying Dutchman, said: "We're doing this to honour the families that sometimes walk for days to reach the clinics where Operation Smile operates. If they can walk for days, we can walk across Singapore to help change the lives of these children, it means a lot to us."
