SINGAPORE: A big fire is raging on at the Masjid Kampong Siglap along Marine Parade Road.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed at about 3pm that its firefighters were still putting out the fire, although the fire is under control.

It is understood that a man in his 40s is injured.

Viewers who called the MediaCorp hotline described a "bang" or explosive sound, and said that the area is enveloped in thick smoke.

A resident also said that nearby apartments have been evacuated.

The mosque is near Victoria School.
