SM Goh to make five-day official visit to Fujian province

SINGAPORE: Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong will make a five-day official visit to Fujian province in China starting Monday at the invitation of the Fujian government.

During the visit, SM Goh will meet Fujian Party Secretary Lu Zhangong, Fujian Governor Huang Xiaojing, and the leaders of Xiamen, Quanzhou and Fuzhou.

He will be briefed on recent economic developments in Fujian province and explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

SM Goh will also meet prominent business leaders and visit projects by Singapore-based companies in Fujian. In addition, he will meet overseas Singaporeans working and living in Fujian.

While in Quanzhou, the senior minister will stop over at his ancestral village in Wuling, Yongchun County.

Mr Goh will be accompanied by Mrs Goh, Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Manpower Lee Yi Shyan, Parliamentary Secretary for Trade and Industry & Information, Communications and the Arts Sam Tan, Member of Parliament Denise Phua, senior officials and a business delegation.
