SINGAPORE: A forensic pathologist told the High Court on Monday he found more than 20 scars on the body of toddler Natalie Nikie Alisyia Sallehan, who died on January 6 this year after her father allegedly kicked and stamped on her.

On the sixth day of the man's murder trial on Monday, Dr Teo Eng Swee said he also found another 58 instances of external injuries all over the 23-month-old girl's body.

These injuries ranged from abrasions to her neck to a bruise on her face that was "likely" caused by a punch to her face, he said.

The father, 27-year-old Sallehan Allaudin, has been accused of killing the oldest of his three daughters at the family's rental flat in Boon Lay.

The trial continues on Tuesday. If found guilty, Sallehan faces the death penalty. - TODAY/vm
