SINGAPORE: The 14-year-old boy accused of torching the Kampung Siglap mosque in Marine Parade earlier this month will have his case heard at the Juvenile Court on November 18.

His lawyer A L Hussein on Tuesday applied for an adjournment as he needs to obtain a copy of the boy's psychiatric report before he can prepare his representations for his client.

The boy, who cannot be named, is now in remand at the Singapore Boy's Home.

He appeared in court briefly on Tuesday but remained silent, glancing occasionally at his parents, who were standing beside him.

Said to be of low IQ, the boy allegedly used a lighter to set the newly renovated mosque ablaze on October 6, resulting in S$1 million in damages. - TODAY/vm
