SINGAPORE: The People's Association (PA) will be offering mahjong classes in English.

The rules of the game can get quite complicated, but that is not stopping the mahjong enthusiasts, including an Italian student.

They will learn how to play in just four lessons, although mastering the game will take much longer.

Some language barriers have certainly been broken with the classes being conducted in English. However, learning some basic Mandarin cannot be avoided if students want to read the tiles.

The PA is organising three sessions in total. The next session will begin on November 5.
