SINGAPORE: Singapore Armed Forces Football Club (SAFFC) – also known as the Warriors - was crowned champions of the 2009 S.League season on Friday at the Jalan Besar stadium.

The ceremony was carried out after the Warriors' final match with Tampines Rovers, which ended in a goaless draw.

But the result was academic, as the Warriors had already clinched their fourth consecutive S.League title two weeks ago, after their 1-0 win over Sengkang Punggol.

It is the eighth time that they have been crowned champions in the history of the S.League.

As part of their win, the champions were presented with a cheque of S$150,000 along with the 2009 championship trophy.
