SINGAPORE: A voluntary network has been formed to bring together the different communities of adult trainers in Singapore.
The "Adult Educators' Network" was introduced at the annual Adult Learning Symposium on Thursday morning.
The network is dedicated to the growing number of about 3,000 people who work in the Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) system. It will provide professional development opportunities and peer support for the WSQ Professionals.
Some of the network's upcoming activities and initiatives include an e-journal for WSQ trainers, and scholarships for ongoing learning and development.
"We can benefit from having closer communities of adult educators, particularly those with common interests in similar fields who can share knowledge, collaborate in their work, be supported in their professional development and contribute to the professional growth of one another," said Halimah Yaacob, deputy secretary general, National Trades Union Congress.
