SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a drink driver involved in a hit-and-run accident on Tuesday.
The 38-year-old driver, who was arrested with the help of a member of the public, had hit a motorcyclist along Jalan Sultan at about 3am.
The driver sped off after the collision, but an eyewitness alerted police who later found the driver's car parked at nearby Pahang Street.
The eyewitness also helped the police identify the driver.
A breathalyser test was conducted and the driver was found to have 64 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres - nearly twice the legal limit of 35mcg/100ml.
The 24-year-old motorcyclist sustained multiple injuries and was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
The driver has since been released on bail pending further police investigation. - CNA/de
