SINGAPORE: A 39-year-old senior physics lecturer from the National University of Singapore (NUS) collapsed while exercising and died shortly after.

Dr Roland Su Jong Hea was exercising at the fitness gym at the Prince George's Park Residences on campus when he collapsed on Tuesday.

In a statement, NUS says CPR was immediately administered on the lecturer and the Singapore Civil Defence Force was notified of the incident.

He was brought to the National University Hospital (NUH) where he later died.

Dr Su had been the resident adviser at the Prince George's Park Residences since 2001 and was also an associate dean for the International Student Exchange.

The cause of his death is still under investigation.
