Design festival, award exhibition launched at ION Orchard

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Design Festival 2009 was launched on Friday, together with the President's Design Award Exhibition.

The event at ION Orchard was graced by Singapore President S R Nathan.

The festival, whose theme is "Possibilities for Tomorrow", is made up of an extensive range of more than 100 events.

Organisers said it will attract and engage designers, businesses, as well as overseas visitors.

As part of the 10-day event, various studios with internationally renowned designers will develop design propositions for the year 2050.
