SINGAPORE: Service quality and customer satisfaction are key priority areas for Singapore and that's being examined by the Economic Strategies Committee said Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Lim Swee Say.
He added that there's a need for general upgrading of service levels at all sectors.
Mr Lim was speaking at the presentation of the SuperStar award, the highest excellent service awards in Singapore.
10 individuals were chosen from some 15,700 staff from 375 companies.
Mr Lim noted that the latest customer satisfaction index released by the Institute of Service Excellence at SMU had shown a drop in customer satisfaction in several service sectors.
He said one reason could be while sales staff were friendly and polite, product and price expectations may not have been met.
Hence there is a need to improve service quality. - CNA/vm
