SINGAPORE: MediaCorp's Vasantham channel held a 'live' charity show on Sunday night to raise funds for the Indian community.

The two-hour show drew more than 6,000 phone donations and raised more than S$630,000 for the Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA), exceeding its target of S$400,000.

The funds raised will be given out as bursaries to students from low-income families next year.

SINDA plans to hold this fundraising event annually.
