Suspected Indonesian illegal immigrant falls to his death in Woodlands

SINGAPORE: An Indonesian man died after falling at the Woodlands bus interchange on Sunday morning.

The 21-year-old was seen climbing over the parapet at the Woodlands MRT station and jumping down to the bus interchange below.

He was suspected to be an illegal immigrant and was trying to escape from the police who were conducting checks in the area.

The man was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived. Police have classified the case as unnatural death and are investigating it.
