SINGAPORE: Two baby girls made their appearance at the stroke of midnight to become Singapore's first babies of 2010 as well as the decade.

One was born at Mount Alvernia Hospital. And at Thomson Medical Centre, 33-year-old Melissa Gan was all aglow as her bundle of joy, Zoe, made her appearance naturally with fireworks going off in the country.

Zoe is the latest addition to a family, which includes a camera-shy elder sister, Chloe, who is two years old. The family is thrilled at the new addition.

Melissa Gan, Mother said: "We didn't really plan to have the baby on 1st of January. But circumstances are such that it allows me to have it on 1st January and at the exact timing."
