SINGAPORE: Students of River Valley High School will start 2010 in a new campus situated in Boon Lay.

3,000 students, staff, and alumni sang their school anthem loud and proud after trekking five kilometres from the Singapore Science Centre to their new school building.

The 7.6 hectare complex includes three blocks of hostels to house 500 students.

Its former holding campus was at Malan Road in Telok Blangah.

River Valley High School was founded in 1956 as the first Chinese secondary school set up by the government. - CNA/vm
