SINGAPORE: Gombak United ended Balestier Khalsa's six-day reign atop the S.League table with a 2-1 victory over the Tigers at Toa Payoh Stadium on Monday evening.

New signing Park Kang Jin set the game alight with a goal off a team counter-attack on the hour mark, but it was Bah Mamadou whose zero-to-hero transformation yielded the greater drama.

The centreback was culpable for Balestier's equaliser in the 66th minute, when he cleared a ball straight to Rivaldo Costa, who then beat him to shoot home from an extremely tight angle on the right flank.

But the Bulls came up with the perfect riposte just four minutes later, when Mamadou rose unimpeded to head Park's corner into the top corner and pull the hosts down to third place on goal difference. - S.League.com
