SINGAPORE : The Lunar New Year is a few days away, and those living across the border are headed back to celebrate.

Land transport companies are seeing more customers travelling between Singapore and Malaysia.

According to one bus company which provides rides between Singapore and Malaysia, it has had to double its current fleet of buses from 50 to 100.

Bus companies normally face competition from budget airlines, but travelling trends are different during this period.

Budget airline flights across the border were also fully booked a few months ago. - CNA/ms
