SINGAPORE: A new degree programme is being offered by UniSIM to increase the pool of workplace safety and health professionals in Singapore.
From July, UniSIM will start a three-year programme on Human Factors in Safety. This is a Bachelor of Science programme.
The course is for existing professionals keen to upgrade their skills and students interested in the workplace safety and health profession.
The programme is also recognised by the Manpower Ministry to ensure better systems and culture at workplaces.
The course will cover topics like human capability and limitations as well as human anatomy.
Chui Yoon Ping, head, Human Factors & Systems Programme, UniSIM, said: "The government is actually keen to develop more Workplace Health and Safety professionals.
"So we are just trying to play a role in this. So hopefully, graduating from the programme with two years of subsequent working experience in relevant areas, they can actually be registered a WSH professional." - CNA/vm
