SINGAPORE : Some 4,000 women came together for a workout on Saturday, ahead of International Women's Day on Monday.

Gathering at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, the women came from all walks of life, and their ages ranged from seven to over 70.

Among them was Dr Amy Khor, Mayor of South West District, who was the guest of honour.

The Amore Women's Day Out is now into its seventh year, and organisers said regular exercise and maintaining an active lifestyle can have multiple benefits, such as improving a person's mental and emotional health.

With more women leading busy lives, organisers hope to remind them that exercise is not a waste of time, but "a tool to achieve greater things in life". - CNA/ms
