SINGAPORE: Families can look forward to a week-long event where stores will be offering various discounts and promotions during the March school holidays.
It's the first time the Businesses for Families Council is launching such an initiative to encourage businesses to adopt family-friendly strategies.
"We Welcome Families Week" will last a week from March 13 to 21.
The council said 3,888 businesses have taken up the Businesses for Families Pledge.
While the week-long event may encourage families to spend more time together, it is also a big marketing and publicity opportunity for businesses.
Mildred Tan, co-chair, Businesses for Families Council, said: "There's a handy guide that talks about all the different establishments that welcome families. And in that guide, we'll see a lot of coupons inside that actually allow discounts, promotions with families. And it's not just mother and children. The main thing about this Family Week for Businesses for Families is about inter-generation."
