SINGAPORE: The Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall will be closed later this year for a makeover that will take at least three years.

On Thursday evening, it hosted Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his wife Ms Ho Ching who were there for the premiere of Singapore Dance Theatre's Giselle.

The ballet performance is one of the last few shows to be staged there before the renovations.

The show is about a girl falling in love with a nobleman only to discover he is engaged.

The ballet is Singapore Dance Theatre's first production for 2010.
