SINGAPORE: Six Social Work and Special Education undergraduates received a financial boost to their studies on Thursday, when they were awarded the inaugural Tan Chin Tuan-SSTI Award.

The Tan Chin Tuan Foundation (TCTF) has pledged S$15,000 annually to the Social Service Training Institute (SSTI), in recognition and support of students pursuing education in social service fields.

SSTI is the training academy of the National Council of Social Service.

Interested Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents undertaking the Bachelor of Social Work or the Bachelor of Education (Special Education) programmes at SSTI can apply for the study award. Successful applicants will receive a one-time award of up to S$5,000 for their studies.

This is the first partnership between TCTF and SSTI.
