SINGAPORE: A new record has been set in the Singapore Biathlon - for the most number of people taking part.
The event on Saturday morning, which is the 10th to be held since it started in 2001, attracted 2,310 participants.
The first flag-off began at 8.30am at the East Coast Park. Particpants had to swim 1.5 kilometres and run 10 kilometres.
SAFRA, the organiser of the event, said the Singapore Biathlon has grown into a definitive local sports events, and has seen a steady increase in the number of participants.
The top honours went to national triathlete Mok Ying Ren, who won the Men's Open Category in 55 minutes 38 seconds.
Winner of the women's open category was Trudy Fawcett, a Singapore permanent resident. She crossed the finish line in 1 hour 5 minutes 41 seconds.
