SINGAPORE : The scouts are out in force - to sweep, clean and scrub. It is the call of duty during "Job Week", when they fan out to work and learn the value of honest labour.

So they have been knocking on doors for chores and earning a token sum which will go to charity.

Some scouts from Yangzheng Primary School even landed the job of cleaning some classic cars of yesteryears. This was especially arranged by the Heritage Car Club of Singapore.

A 1929 Austin 7 Meteor is the oldest of the 13 vintage cars which got a good scrub.

More than 30 youths soaked up the fun at the Singapore Scout Association in Bishan. - CNA/ms
