SINGAPORE: Police arrested 24 people for suspected involvement in loansharking activities in an operation last Wednesday.

They were arrested in raids at Pandan Loop, Pasir Ris, Chai Chee, Bedok, Ubi Ave, Marine Parade, Tampines, and Simei.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, mostly men, were believed to have allowed the loansharks to use their bank accounts for loansharking activities.

Investigations are still on-going. - CNA/vm
