SINGAPORE : The Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) will look into developing students' life skills and creative skills.
Manpower Minister Gan Kim Yong, who is also chairman of CDAC's Education committee, said the CDAC will continue its current tuition programme.
Its two new programmes will focus on non-academic areas, such as leadership skills and the arts.
Mr Gan said an additional 1,500 students are expected to benefit from this programme.
He said: "The second programme under our committee is to look at character building and life skills. Through this programme, we hope to strengthen the character of our students, help them acquire leadership qualities, and to also prepare them better for the job market later on when they graduate from their studies.
"The last programme in our committee is on talent development. We want to help our students develop talent in art, music, dance, drama, as well as sports." - CNA /ls
