SINGAPORE: If you are travelling to the United Kingdom, do check if your flight has been rescheduled or cancelled.
All London flights, including those from Heathrow, will be suspended from 1100 GMT Thursday - 7pm Singapore time - due to volcanic ash from Iceland.
"All flights in and out of Heathrow and Stansted will be suspended from midday, but the terminals will remain open," a spokeswoman for airports operator BAA told AFP.
According to the Singapore Airlines website, two SIA flights - departing Copenhagen and London's Heathrow Airport - have been retimed.
Authorities said it is due to the volcanic ash cloud covering much of Northern Europe after a volcano erupted in Iceland.
SQ 351, originally scheduled to depart Copenhagen at 1120hrs on April 15, has been rescheduled to an earlier departure time of 1050hrs.
SQ 317, scheduled to depart London Heathrow at 1155hrs on 15 April, has been retimed to depart at 1100hrs.
No other flights departing from Northern Europe are affected at this point.)
SIA said that given the fluid situation, customers are advised to visit its website (www.singaporeair.com) for updates.
According to wires, hundreds of flights in and out of other British airports, including Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester, East Midlands, London's Stansted and Luton were cancelled, although the airports remained open.
Reports said there were no flights in or out of Scotland, with Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow airports all shut down.
Also shut were Northern Ireland's Belfast Airport and Newcastle airport in the north of England.
