SINGAPORE : The Singapore Food Festival is back, and this year's theme highlights dishes from the main Chinese dialect groups in Singapore.
The festival aims to show how Chinese food has evolved since it was first brought to Singapore by immigrants.
Over the next 10 days, food lovers can look forward to a Food Street at Clarke Quay, hosting some 30 stalls.
Those checking out the festival can take a cruise down the Singapore River or sign up for culinary master classes.
There will also be special promotions at restaurants.
For the first time, visitors can buy a Kopitiam card and use it to purchase food during the festival.
They can also download an iPhone App called "Grandma's Kitchen", to learn a thing or two about cooking some of Singapore's best loved Chinese dishes. "Grandma's Kitchen" is also available on the Singapore Food Festival website .
Bloggers will also join in the action - they will embark on food-tasting sessions and blog about them in real time. - CNA/ms
