SINGAPORE : Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Yaacob Ibrahim, will be in Kuching, in the eastern Malaysian state of Sarawak, on Thursday to attend a meeting on haze pollution.

Dr Yaacob will meet his counterparts from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand to review and enhance measures to monitor, prevent and mitigate land and forest fires in the southern ASEAN region, said the Ministry for Environment and Water Resources.

He will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and the National Environment Agency.

The meeting will be the 10th Meeting of the Sub-Regional Ministerial Steering Committee on Transboundary Haze Pollution.
