SINGAPORE: Burger chain, Wendy's, will reopen its outlet at Liat Towers on Friday. The new franchise in Singapore was in business for only three days before it was hit by floods twice and was forced to close.

Many said they will patronise the outlet and are confident that hygiene and food quality will not be compromised.

After an overhaul costing some S$500,000 that saw a complete replacement of kitchen equipment and furnishings, Wendy's is ready to resume business as usual.

But this time with sandbags.

Goh Wee Ling, manager, Corporate Communications, Wendy's, said: "While we feel that maybe sandbags are quite primitive, we still feel that it's most effective. For a long term measure, we will be considering putting up water prevention doors at the back of the kitchen. So that when this happens, the flood doesn't come in and spoil all the food." - CNA/vm
