SINGAPORE : Two men will be charged in court with loanshark harassment on Wednesday.

Police caught the pair at the void deck of Block 450 Hougang.

They had aroused the suspicion of police officers on anti-crime rounds.

One of them had with him a black marker pen, three packets of orange paint and a slip of paper containing suspected debtors' addresses.

Police said the suspects were believed to have carried out acts of harassment by splashing paint at debtors' units in Hougang.

First-time offenders found guilty of loanshark harassment can be fined up to S$50,000 with mandatory imprisonment of up to five years and mandatory caning of up to six strokes. - CNA/ms
