SINGAPORE: A fishmonger who had fought with another woman at a Clementi wet market has pleaded guilty to threatening her victim with a chopper.
Forty-nine-year-old Teo Siang Liang got into a fight with a neighbouring fishmonger, 52-year-old Koh Chiam Kee at Block 448, Clementi Avenue 3 on February 23.
It had been reported that Ms Koh had accused Teo's husband, 56-year-old Tan You Wha, of molesting her.
MediaCorp understands that no further action will be taken against Mr Tan.
Teo confronted Ms Koh at around noon that day and told her neighbour that she wanted to beat her up.
She marched over to Ms Koh's stall, picked up the chopper and threatened her with it.
Mr Tan intervened and removed the weapon from Teo's hand.
A scuffle then broke out between the two women and Teo pulled Ms Koh's hair, causing her to fall to the ground.
Passers-by stepped in to separate them and police soon arrived at the incident.
District Judge Soh Tze Bian has called for a probation report and Teo will be back in court on October 25.
She can be jailed up to two years, fined or both.
