SINGAPORE : Friends and relatives paid their last respects to the late S Chandramohan, who died on Saturday after a long illness.

The wake of the former director of news and current affairs at the then-Singapore Broadcasting Corporation is being held at his residence in Sian Tuan Avenue, off Dunearn Road.

Among those who paid their last respects was Foreign Minister George Yeo.

Community Development, Youth and Sports Minister Vivian Balakrishnan was also there with his father.

They have known Mr Chandra Mohan for decades as they had lived near each other.

Dr Balakrishnan said: "My father and I have known him for many decades. We used to stay nearby. He used to walk past our house.

"For me, I also know him through my years debating and participating in various current affairs shows. He has always been a nice man, a good source of advice and an inspiration to everyone who has worked with him."

Mr Chandramohan's funeral will be held on Monday afternoon. - CNA /ls
