SINGAPORE: The NATAS travel fair which ended Sunday smashed records for the highest number of visitors ever and the highest volume of sales achieved.

The organiser said S$85 million in sales were chalked up, which is a 50 per cent increase from last year.

Meanwhile, 70,500 people visited the fair, an increase of 14 per cent.

The fair also broke the record for the most number of booths sold, at 1,091.

NATAS CEO Robert Khoo said pent-up demand and the improving economy contributed to the record breaking numbers.

The top five favourite destinations are China, Europe, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
